The London Borough of Wandsworth is located Southwest of London City airport a distance of 14 miles that would take around 40 minutes by taxi via the A1011 and A3. It is located in South-West London and has a population of 307,700 according to 2011 statistics.

The history of the area can be traced back to the last ice age with a huge mammoth and woolly rhinoceros being found in Wandsworth and Battersea. Iron Age shields and swords were also recovered from the surrounding areas and an important Roman Road crossed through Balham and Tooting with the known local settlement at Tooting. During the Tudor times Wandsworth was used as a country retreat for wealthy merchants and local farmers would trade their produce in the city. During the 19th century new industries were developed along the Thames and these new companies and the arrival of the railway attracted more workers to the area.

There is a broad range of activities and attractions in the area including Battersea Park-having amenities, sports facilities, play areas and Childrens Zoo, The Wandsworth Arts Festival, Wandsworth Common, De Moran Centre and King Georges Park.
